A Missouri Lottery player thought he was seeing things after revealing a $50,000 top prize on a “Fruit Loot” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Price Cutter Plus, 3620 E. Battlefield St., in Springfield.
“I took it in and brought it in to my son. I was just like, tell me I’m not hallucinating,” the winner shared.
His son confirmed it was a top-prize winning ticket when he exclaimed, “Dad, you just won $50,000!”
“Currently, me and my son share one car, so I’m gonna buy a second car,” he shared, adding that he plans to use the remaining winnings to pay some bills and take a vacation.
“Fruit Loot” is a $3 game that currently offers over $7.1 million in unclaimed prizes, including three more top prizes of $50,000.
In FY22, players in Greene County won more than $48.5 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $4.7 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $20.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
