While playing pool at Teacher’s Billiards, 3611 N. St. Peters Parkway in St. Peters, a Missouri Lottery player was urged to check his Powerball ticket from the Dec. 18 drawing.
“The waitress walks up and asks if I won the Lottery,” he shared. “I said, ‘No,’ and she said, ‘Can I see your ticket?’” so I gave it to her.”
She then scanned his ticket and confirmed her suspicion.
“She said, ‘You won $50,000!’ and I said, ‘Bull!’” he joked.
The winning numbers on Dec. 18 were 5, 8, 19, 34 and 39 with a Powerball number of 26. The player’s ticket matched four out of five white-ball numbers, as well at the Powerball number, to win the $50,000 prize.
“I was just happy!”he added.
Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.
