A Missouri Lottery player thought he might have been seeing things when his “Full of 500s” Scratchers ticket held a $100,000 top prize.
The winning ticket was sold at Rolla MotoMart, 119 Howard Johnson Drive, in Rolla.
“I don’t know what made me go in and choose the particular game,” the winner said. “I just bought three of them and the third one, the last one, was the winner. I didn’t know if I was seeing things.”
He shared he calmly walked out of the store, not saying a word to anyone.
“I was just amazed and shocked,” he laughed.
The winner shared plans to use the money for bills.
“Full of 500s” is a $5 Scratchers ticket with another $100,000 top prize currently unclaimed.
In FY23, players in Phelps County won more than $8.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, while retailers received more than $843,000 in commissions and bonuses. More than $2.6 million went to educational programs in the county.
