A Missouri Lottery player in Kansas City spelled his way to a $100,000 prize while watching another win play out.

His “$100,000 Super Crossword” Scratchers ticket, purchased at Cenex, 7501 Troost Ave. in Kansas City, held one of the game’s top prizes. Two additional top prizes remain unclaimed.
He explained he choose the crossword ticket because “you have to work for it.”
“You’ve got to think about what you’re doing and check what you’ve got,” he said. “It keeps you engaged.”
He plans to use some of the winnings on home improvement projects.
