A stop at QuikTrip, 7579 Olive Blvd. in University City, turned into a $77,777 win when a Missouri Lottery player purchased a “Triple Red 777” Scratchers ticket.
“I actually bought one from the vending machine and one from the counter, so I don’t know which one it was,” she said.
As she began scratching off the winning ticket, she couldn’t believe her eyes.
“I scratched it off, and I saw a 7, and then I saw another 7, then another 7, and I thought, ‘Oh, my God! Is this really saying $77,777?’” she said.
Her reaction to the news was swift.
“I started crying!” she shared. “I can’t believe this. I really can’t believe this!”
She plans to use the money to purchase a new car.
“Triple Red 777” players have won over $16 million, and over $17.8 million remain in unclaimed prizes - including a top prize of $777,777 and two additional prizes of $77,777.
In FY23, players in St. Louis County won more than $207.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $20 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $76 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
