A Missouri Lottery player has a single candy cane symbol to thank for her top-prize win in the “Season’s Greetings” Scratchers game.
“As soon as I scratched off that candy cane and saw the $200,000 prize, I said, ‘Oh, this can’t be real!’” the winner laughed.
She had uncovered the game’s first top prize on the “Season’s Greetings” ticket she purchased at DJ’s Package Liquor, 6109 Page Ave., in St. Louis.
The winner shared plans to refurnish her home and purchase a new car.
Through Jan. 9, Missouri Lottery players can enter their eligible Draw Games tickets and holiday-themed Scratchers tickets into the “Second Chance of a Lifetime: Anchors Away” holiday promotion for a chance to win taxes-paid cruises, coastal escapes or cash prizes.
In FY23, players in St. Louis County won more than $207.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received over $20 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $76 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
