A couple of Show Me Cash players in Versailles thought they’d won a $30,000 prize, unaware they’d actually won a $130,000 jackpot. That is, until a Missouri Lottery employee congratulated them on their jackpot win.
One of the winners explained he knew they had won, but he didn’t know the prize amount when they scheduled an appointment at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City.
That’s where they were told their ticket matched all five numbers drawn on Dec. 15, making them the sole winners of a $130,000 Show Me Cash jackpot.
“It was a good surprise,” they shared. “We thought it was $30,000 and were happy with that!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Walmart, 1003 W. Newton, in Versailles. The winning numbers on Dec. 15, were 2, 3, 8, 25 and 38.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $103,000.
Players who purchased tickets in Morgan County in FY23 won more than $5.5 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $370,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs received more than $198,000 in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
