A Missouri Lottery “Treasure Hunt” Scratchers ticket purchased at Walmart, 1000 Graves St. in Chillicothe, revealed one of the game’s top prizes – to one of the game’s top fans.
The winner explained he purchased the ticket because it was his girlfriend’s favorite Scratchers game, but he held onto it a few days before scratching it.
“I’d been carrying it in my back pocket for a couple of days,” he recalled. “I about lost it a couple of times, and my girlfriend told me we needed to get it scratched.”
When he finally played it, the ticket revealed one of the game’s $50,000 top prizes.
“I didn’t believe it even though I saw it myself,” he laughed.
He shared plans to use some of the winnings on a new car.
In FY23, players in Livingston County won more than $1.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received over $198,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $604,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
