Still half asleep, a Missouri Lottery player reached out to get the “Treasure Hunt” Scratchers ticket her husband had gotten for her at Casey’s, 316 East Commercial St., in Senath.
“My husband just happened to go early and just happened to get me one of those tickets,” she said.
Having just woken up, she admits she thought she was still asleep when she saw how much she had won.
“I kept rubbing my eyes because I kept seeing more zeros!” she laughed. “I was like, ‘Alright, let’s focus!’”
She checked the ticket multiple times – even calling in her husband to check it – before she finally believed it was real.
“I kept thinking I probably made a mistake because it was too good to be true!” she shared.
“Treasure Hunt” is a $3 game that offers prizes up to $50,000. So far players have won over $3.2 million on the game and over $9.7 million remain in unclaimed prizes – including five more prizes of $50,000.
In FY23, players in Dunklin County won more than $8.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $825,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $702,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
