A Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket purchased in Kansas City revealed a $2 million top prize to a lucky player after the bright red and gold ticket caught her eye.
“It was on a whim,” she explained. “I bought it because it was pretty!”
The “$2,000,000 Sizzling Riches” ticket she purchased held one of the game’s top prizes of $2 million, but she couldn’t believe her eyes.
“I was with friends and said, ‘Look at this and tell me what it says!’” she recalled.
The winning ticket was purchased at Swope Xpress Mart, 2601 Swope Parkway, in Kansas City.
In FY23, players in Jackson County won more than $108.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received over $9.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $15.5 million went to education programs in the county.
