While at Murphy USA, 2027 W. Business Highway 60 in Dexter, a Missouri Lottery player asked her husband to go in and buy a “Double-Sided Dollars” Scratchers ticket.
“We were scratching it off, and it was on the very back of the ticket,” the winner shared. “It said we hit the 5X, so I thought we won $20,000.”
They brought the ticket to the person at the counter to double-check only to find out they had won much more than $20,000.
“She scans it and goes, ‘No, you didn’t just hit $20,000! Do you want a chair?” she said.
When the clerk revealed they had won one of the top prizes of $100,000, she understood the question.
“I was like screaming and running across the parking lot! It’s like a once-in-a-lifetime dream!” she shared.
“Double-Sided Dollars” is the Lottery’s newest $5 ticket. So far, players have won over $1.9 million on the game, and over $17.1 million remain in unclaimed prizes – including five more top prizes of $100,000.
In FY23, players in Stoddard County won more than $6.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $569,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $459,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
