A Missouri Lottery player in Kansas City is planning a cruise vacation after uncovering a top prize on a “Power 5s” Scratchers ticket.
“It was an interesting experience for me and my wife. Very interesting,” the winner recalled.
“When I scratched off the first prize, it said $2,500. I was happy with just that! I showed my wife and said, ‘We won!’” he laughed. “Then I kept scratching.”
Once he added all the prizes on his ticket together, he realized it totaled $100,000.
“It was miraculous,” he shared. “I’m definitely going to take a cruise. I’m going on vacation!”
His ticket was purchased at Swope Xpress Mart, 2601 Swope Parkway, which previously sold a $2 million winning Scratchers ticket in March.
Through Aug. 20, players can enter their eligible Scratchers tickets into the “Choose Your Dream Adventure” second-chance summer promotion for a chance to win in the “Dream Vacation” or “Dream Green” drawings. “Weekly Cash” drawings will also be held throughout the promotion.
In FY23, players in Jackson County won more than $108.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $9.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $15.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
