A Quick Pick ticket purchased at Walmart, 1202 S. Kirkwood Road in Kirkwood, led a pair of Missouri Lottery playing friends to a Show Me Cash jackpot prize on July 23.
“He’s my best friend and my playing partner,” one of the winners said, sharing that his friend was the one to purchase the ticket.
The day after the drawing, he called his friend to share the news they had matched all five winning numbers drawn, winning the $178,000 jackpot.
“It was amazing!” he said. “It was just like, what are the odds?”
The winning numbers that night were 10, 25, 29, 34 and 39.
“I plan to use it to become debt free,” the winner added.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $70,000.
Players who purchased tickets in St. Louis City in FY23 won more than $57 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $4.7 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $10.8 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
