‘Exciting’ $6.3 Million Lotto Win Discovered in St. Charles County

Apr. 23, 2025

The winner of a $6.3 million jackpot prize from the March 19 Lotto drawing had no idea he had won until days after the drawing.

He had purchased a Quick Pick ticket at Rocket, 463 Hawk Ridge Trail in Lake St. Louis, but he didn’t check it until he was back at the store a few days later.

“I walked up to the scanner and it told me to go to the Lottery office,” he said. “So I had the cashier check it for me because I was a little bit surprised.”

When the cashier scanned his ticket, she instantly knew he had won a large amount.

“She told me I needed to go to the Lottery office because I won a big prize,” he explained.

He quickly went home and checked his numbers against the winning Lotto numbers. Only then did he realize he’d won $6.3 million.

“I had to check like three times, and my wife had to check, too!” he said. “It was just too exciting!”

A few weeks later, he was at the Lottery’s St. Louis regional office, winning ticket in hand, to claim his prize. The ticket matched all six Lotto numbers drawn on March 19 –  5, 8, 30, 32, 39 and 40.

Lotto is an in-state Draw Game, with drawings held every Wednesday and Saturday evening at 8:59 p.m. Tonight’s Lotto jackpot is estimated at $1.9 million.

In FY24, players in St. Charles County won more than $68.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $6.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $16.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
