Mentoring & Training

The Missouri Lottery has created an organizational culture of development with the support of our employees through an Employee Mentor Program. This program was established to ensure employees take an active role in spreading knowledge and best practices throughout the organization. The mentoring program provides Missouri Lottery employees with career guidance and encouragement through the establishment of formal mentor partnerships.

Since the program began, an average of 24 employees have participated each year. This is equivalent to approximately one out of six current employees.

In addition to internal mentoring, Lottery employees complete training each year to develop our organization further. In FY25, Missouri Lottery employees completed more than 6,062 training hours. That's more than 757 days of training, organization-wide, including annual, mandatory training in responsible gaming.

I was a young college student working in a grocery store in 1986 when I was able to help sell the first Lottery tickets available in Missouri. Here we are 40 years later, and I am now proud to be the executive director for the Missouri Lottery. Each day here, I am honored to work with employees who support and believe in the Lottery's mission to "help fund educational opportunities for Missouri Students, support Missouri businesses and entertain millions." It's a rewarding industry where we are able to change lives by funding educational opportunities or awarding prizes to players. In fact, to date, we have provided more than $8.7 billion to the State of Missouri and public education and awarded more than $22 billion.
